More than 1,000 gather for Peace

The Woodstock Council for Peace, Water Not Weapons, Veterans for Peace, The World Peace Prayer Society, The Haitian People’s Support Project, and at least 1,000 individuals braved the pouring, freezing rain yesterday, and  gathered at Brooklyn Borough Hall yesterday to march over The Brooklyn Bridge to City Hall in support of The World March for Peace and Nonviolence.

Out of all the news outlets present at the World March for Peace and Nonviolence, attended by more than 1,000 peace-loving people, many of whom traveled hundreds and even thousands of miles to make their voices heard in the pouring rain, only NY1 thought it worthy to broadcast. Hate, violence, scandal—newsworthy. Love and peace—not so much.

Please write to all the major networks and let them know that the universal desire for peace deserves more attention. In the New York Times blog list, there is no heading for “Peace”. We can and must change this.

Thank you to all who attended; we love you.
