Father Nelson and the Woodstock Council for World Peace had their first meeting this past Thursday at Alchemy of Woodstock, and we thank Alchemy and all involved for their participation and support. The Council’s next meeting will be on Monday, November 9, 2009, also at Alchemy, and will begin at 6:00 p.m. We’d also like to take this opportunity to once again thank all who participated in the Walk for Peace on August 8th & 9th; with special thanks to Nick Altomare, Assistant Vice President, and Lee Johnson, Store Supervisor of T.D. Bank in Woodstock, who kindly put out a table with our t-shirts and provided water to the walkers.
We expect many wonderful developments from the Council in the coming months, and we will post news as it becomes available.
For our supporters in New York City, Pete Seeger, Phil Sauers, and the New York City Chapter of Friends of Clearwater and Water Not Weapons will be holding the first annual Halloween concert at The Frying Pan, at 26th Street and the Hudson River in New York City on Saturday, October 31st, 2009, from Noon until 4:00 p.m. In addition to Pete, Roland Mousaa will be performing, as will many other wonderful musicians. Admission is free, and costumes are welcomed, but not required (Pirates for Peace, perhaps?). Arrrgh!
