Nobel Prize for Pete Seeger?

seegerPete Seeger deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his tireless work for peace, ranging from his innumerable unpaid performances and his vast body of work, to his invaluable founding and stewardship of the Clearwater organization, his mentoring of numerous other musicians dedicated to peace, and his phenomenal indefatigability. We’ll find out via live webcast at 9:00 a.m GMT (that’s 4:00 a.m. Eastern Standard Time) on Friday, 9 October 2009, here.

And here’s a link to Pete singing the song (with Bruce Springsteen and many others—Pete’s unrivaled in eliciting audience participation) that best embodies the spirit of “America”, Woody Guthrie’s This Land is Your Land. Enjoy!

One Response to Nobel Prize for Pete Seeger?

  1. Esta mañana he vuelto a llorar con “where have all the flowers gone”. Es suficiente para haber vivido para conocerla y saber que el hace cada dia un poco mejor este mundo dificil que nos ha tocado vivir. Lo vi en la tele en un concierto y todavia tengo la piel de gallina.
