Japanese Prime Minister calls for nuclear weapons ban

Today is the 64th anniversary of the bombing of Nagasaki, Japan, and Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso said, at ceremonies in the city of Nagasaki, “To avoid a repeat of the tragedies of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we must devote all of our energy in the pursuit of international peace.”

The ceremony was hosted my the Mayor of Nagasaki, Tomihisa Taue, who said that while progress has been made, more needs to be done.
